Chapter 1: Una’s Dream

  Una is inside a square, concrete building. It looks like a school. It also looks like a hospital.
The ceiling is low and it is dark. There is a red carpet on the floor. There are many doors along a long hallway.
She walks down the hallway and opens one of them.
Five or six men are sitting there.
When she opens the door, they all turn to face her. They all have her father's face.
There is no expression on any of them.
Their mouths creak open and whir like a broken machine.
Una is startled. She shuts the door and runs back into the hallway. She opens another door.
Five or six long-haired men with prominent bald patches turn to her in unison.
 They all have her father's face.
She closes the door and runs back to open another door. Five or six men with bobbed hair are looking at her.
They all have her father's face.
Terrified, Una continues to look for the way out.
When she finally finds the exit door and makes it outside, it is a dark night.
She gets into the first car she sees. The driver looks at her. He has the face of her father.
Una wakes up in shock.
